  • Planned, implemented, and supervised the library media program, center, and staff serving nine hundred students in a bilingual, urban setting where over seventy percent of students had limited financial resources.

  • Lead the building Technology Integration Committee and collaborated with teachers to integrate technology into their classrooms using tools such as blogging, video editing, GoogleApps, and website evaluation by students. Served as the building representative on the district technology steering committee and participated in decision-making regarding district-wide technology issues including tech levy planning and implementation.

  • Served as an active member of the building’s Instructional Leadership Team in professional learning community planning activities, and provided professional development opportunities to colleagues.

  • Promoted reading and self-exploration to students through activities including author visits, book recommendations, book club, book talks, and instruction on the media-technology curriculum.

  • Managed building technology and equipment, configured and managed classroom iPads, and served as the “go-to” person for technology related needs by staff, students, and teachers.

  • Served as building Webmaster, created a blog titled Spartan Pride to celebrate and share students’ work, and created the RMS Tech and Journalism Club for students that produced the weekly student announcements.

  • Improved and streamlined the media program processes according to best practices. Reorganized the library media center into a bookstore model to facilitate easier access to books, modified software settings in the online database to simplify checkouts and inventories, and improved signage.

  • Increased Richfield Middle School’s online presence by actively moderating the building’s Twitter and Facebook accounts and by creating a blog titled Teachers Inspiring Awesome to provide staff with resources.

  • Participated in the Check and Connect outreach, mentoring program, tracked students’ academic progress, provided tutoring, and followed up with parents and teachers to ensure students’ educational goals were met. Advised students on strategies for working with teachers to improve their success in the classroom. Guided students on how their actions and behaviors impacted their future and encouraged students to aim for college

  • Developed positive relationships with students and staff to assess needs and match them with library resources.
